Diagnosis: Chronic peptic ulcer
Pathologic findings: Modest chronic inflammatory infilrate associated with the granulation tissue. This consists of lymphocytes, macrophages, plasma cells, and some eosinophils. In addition, at the surface of the ulcer bed, there is some necrotic tissue, and this is associated with some PMNs an acute inflammatory reaction.
