- Plexiform Neurofibroma
- Description:
- Plexiform neurofibroma - note surgery scar over the lesion A type of neurofibroma manifesting as a diffuse overgrowth of subcutaneous tissue, usually involving the face, scalp, neck, and chest but occasionally occurring in the abdomen or pelvis. The tumors tend to progress, and may extend along nerve roots to eventually involve the spinal roots and spinal cord. This process is almost always a manifestation of neurofibromatosis.

- Duodenum, adenoma
- Description:
- An adenoma is a benign tumor (-oma) of glandular origin. Adenomas can grow frommany organs including the colon, adrenal glands, pituitary gland, thyroid, prostate, etc.Although these growths are benign, over time they may progress to become malignant, atwhich point they are called adenocarcinomas. Even while benign, they have the potentialto cause serious health complications by compressing other structures (mass effect) andby producing large amounts of hormones in an unregulated, non-feedback-dependentmanner (paraneoplastic syndrome).
