- Sebaceous cyst with punctum over the back, note scar of previous partially excised cyst Sebaceous cyst a benign retention cyst of a sebaceous gland containing the fatty secretion of the gland; this may occur anywhere on the body except the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, although such cysts are most common on the scalp, back, and scrotum.
